
Police Karnataka Lokayukta carried out current raids at more than 24 locations throughout the state aimed at four government officials accused of collecting assets disproportionate to their income.
The raids, which took place early on Thursday, focused on officials based in Bengalur, Kola, Davangere and Yadgir. Residence, offices and property of the accused and their relatives were thoroughly searched and revealed assets worth more than 26.5 GBP, including cash.
Among those who are under the scanner, Raja Venkappa Nayak, a Taluk medical officer in Yadgir, with the highest wealth showed – was estimated to be 12.59 crore, including gasoline, nursing home and 13 acres of agricultural land, Lokayukta said.
Suresh Babu G., a supervisor of a survey in Kola, was found with assets worth 8.18 crore. G. Srinivasa Murty, a powerful BBMP engineer, reportedly owned assets worth 3.45 GBP Crore, while MB Ravi, auxiliary executive engineer in Davangere, held assets worth 2.31 GBP Crore, said Lokayukta.
