Lokayukta court sentences ACF to 3 years for holding disproportionate assets

The 79th City Civil and Sessions court sentenced an Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) to three years of simple imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1.38 crore in a disproportionate assets case registered by the Karnataka Lokayukta in 2014.
The convicted officer, MS Ravikumar, was serving in the Planning Branch at Aranya Bhavan, Malleswaram, Bengaluru.
According to the Lokayukta, its Bengaluru city police station registered a DA case under Section 13(1)(c) on June 9, 2014. (e) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 following allegations that Ravikumar possessed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Investigation revealed that he had allegedly amassed disproportionate assets worth ₹1,35,29,714.37. Subsequently, a charge sheet was filed in a special Lokayukta court.
After the trial, Justice CM Pushpalatha delivered the verdict on 5 October 2026.
