Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticized the opposition boycott of the fifth Lok Kerala Sabha, which began here on Friday.
Lamenting the continued opposition to the forum, he said the sabha enjoys wide public acceptance among the people of Kerala and the diaspora.
“At times during the campaign, we had to hear unfair and inappropriate criticism, even directed at the participants of the Loka Kerala Sabha. It is difficult to understand why some people are showing opposition and opposition to this event. The reason for such hostility is difficult to understand,” he said.
Despite these adversities, the initiative has seen more support over time. The people of Kerala and the global Keralite community have understood the importance of the forum through experience and are not ready to discard it. In particular, the central government urged other states to consider Kerala’s Loka Kerala Sabha as a model for expatriate community engagement and advised them to consider adopting similar mechanisms, Mr. Vijayan added.
