In response to a short debate, the Minister of the Interior of the Union Amit Shah said there was no violence in the last four months. He said that the conversations are taking place with the Meitei and Kuki communities on a peaceful solution.

He said that the government took all possible steps to bring normalness in the northeast state restraint.
“Over the past four months, there has not been violence in manipuro … I will not say that the situation in manipuro is satisfactory, but it is under control … Congress does not have so many deputies that they are moving movement without confidence …” said Amit Shah.

President’s government
The resolution “Observation on the announcement issued by President on 13 February 2025 pursuant to Article 356 (1) of the Constitution in relation to the State of Manipur” was accepted by Lok Sabha vote.
Violence began after the order of the High Court was organized after the “tribal solidarity” march. It was a lot of effort to bring a warning community to a negotiating table from the central government.

Manipur of violence
Amit Shah said that ethnic violence in manipure began to follow the High Court state. “On the day the order came, we sent the central forces through the air. There was no delay (at negotiations) on our part,” the press agency quoted him.
Shah said that so far 260 people died in violence that began in May 2023, and 80 percent of them lost their lives during the first month.
The Minister of the Interior said he did not want to compare the violence that occurred during the possession of previous governments, but wanted to say a house about clashes between the Naga and Kuki communities held in the 90s for five years.

“Unique violence has continued for decades, when 750 people lost their lives. In 1997-98, when 352 people were killed, Kuki-Paite clashes, and the then Prime Minister, even then the Minister of the Interior visited manipur,” he said.
Amit Shah said there was an impression that violence broke out only during the rule of Bharatiya Janata (BJP), which is not right.
What did the opposition say?
Members across party lines supported this decision, but killed the center for the state situation.
The leader of the congress Shashi Tharoor, who previously participated in the debate, said his party supports the resolution, but wanted to restore peace and stability in the state.
“The final rebellion, restoring peace and stability, supported by dialogue, supports inclusivity,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sayani Ghosh of TMC said that its party also supports a resolution, but prefers early restoration of peace.

DMK said to Kanimozhi that in manipuro, a “dividing” policy should end.
“We want normalness to return, peace and harmony should be restored. We also want to create a elected government,” she said.
Shiv hay (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant expressed concern about the predominant situation in manipur and said that peace must be restored.
NCP member (SCP) Supriya Sule said that the presidential rule is not good for democracy and was looking for a “strong intervention” of the Minister of the Interior to return normalness.
