Lok Sabha is set on Wednesday (April 2, 2025) to witness the throw -in between the Ministry of Finance and the opposition benches, because the house will attract the WAQF law (amendment) for discussion and passage.
The draft WAQF brought the block of India (the Indian National Development Inclusing Alliance), along with the opposition leader in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and his counterpart Rajya Sabha Malalikarjun Kharge and organized a common strategy on Tuesday evening.

While the Narendra Modi Government is determined to be approved by the bill, the opposition, which called the bill ‘unconstitutional’, is equally determined to build a harsh resistance. The Congress Party issued a three -member whip and asked all its members to be present for the next three days.
Minister of parliamentary matters Kiren Rijiju, who also holds charges of the Ministry of Minority and will move the bill for passage, said the Commercial Advisory Committee of Lok Sabha (BAC) agreed on an eight -hour debate. But it could extend after the external feeling of the house, he added.
Previously, the opposition members came out of the BAC meeting, chaired by Lok Sabha Om Birla, after disagreements at a time assigned to the debate and other matters.
Representative of the Congress leader at Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi claimed that opposition parties wanted more time to debate the law of WAQF and wanted the house to accept more problems, including the situation in manipur and a number of voters. Mr. Gogoi accused the government of suppressing the voice of the opposition.
However, it is unlikely that the political heat and the length of the debate have no effect on the end result, because the numbers strongly prefer the ruling National Democratic Alliance led by BJP (NDA) in Lok Sabha.
All India Majlis-E-Lithhadul Muslimeen (Aimim) said Assaddin’s chief Owaisi that he would show how the bill is “unconstitutional” when he expresses his opinions in the house. “This bill is aimed at limiting the religious freedom of Muslims,” Owaisi said, adding: “People will teach BJP allies as Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Janata Dal-United (JD-U) lessons”.
The intensity and nature of the debate would not have any effect on its passage, because government allies like JD (U) and TDP committed their support and the National Democratic Alliance has a comfortable majority with 293 deputies.
Police Delhi will fill the security
Police in Delhi has intensified security arrangements in more sensitive areas to ensure that the law and order are not disturbed.
“To maintain the right and order in more sensitive areas, we intensified night patrols and another deployment will be organized,” said the police officer, demanding anonymity.
The officer said that all representatives of police commissioners (DCP) were already ordered to maintain a strict vigil. DCP has already climbed a plan to maintain law and order in their areas, he added.
“No one will be allowed to violate the law and order,” the officer said.
