
Lok Adalat organized by the State Authority for Legal Services in Karnataka (KSLSA) reduced the number of cases waiting in different courts in the state of 3,11 Lakh on one day through mutual settlement of litigation, except for approximately 55.56 lakh preliminary cases that took place before various public authorities.
But for friendly settlement, this could take at least 68 working days that included more than 1,000 judges to decide these litigation, and many of these cases would lead to a full -fledged court dispute before the courts, said V. KamSwar Rao, who was also the executive chairman of the KSLSA.
28 -year -old case
The reigning chief judge, who addressed Mediaperons here, said that one of the 2,377 old cases was a 28 -year -old case of cheating waiting for decisions before various courts for more than 15 years, which were resolved by mutual agreement between disputes.
Lok Adalat also resulted in a settlement of 1,756 marital cases, including cases related to domestic violence, except that he was witnessing 331 couples when they decided to leave their differences in the conciliation process.
Relying solutions to cases such as inspection, land compensation, demands on motor vehicle accidents, recovery of the receivable and disputes with real estate and consumers, led to approximately 2,878 crore, Mr. Justice Rao said.
KSLSA will organize another Lok Adalat all over the state 13th September.
