The Logistics Training Center of Excellence set up at the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) Hyderabad campus was inaugurated by Union Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary on Thursday.
The facility, established by the Redington Foundation, the Redington arm of CSR, in collaboration with the Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC), builds on the success of the Logistics Training Center of Excellence in Chennai, which was established in January 2024 and has since emerged as a benchmark for modern industry-aligned logistics skills.
The Hyderabad center offers significantly expanded capabilities, including simulation labs for truck driving, warehouse operations and forklift management. With a curriculum co-developed by LSC and industry experts, the center integrates Industry 4.0 principles and emerging supply chain technologies to ensure students gain work-ready and future-oriented competencies that meet the expectations of a technology-driven logistics sector. It is poised to enhance the employability of youth in Telangana and help build a strong talent pool for the region, the organizers of the program said in a release.
Mr. Chaudhary, who is the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, told the gathering that India’s logistics sector is entering a decade of high growth, driven by the National Logistics Policy, PM GatiShakti and unprecedented investment in multimodal infrastructure.
As automation, digital supply chains and new mobility models redefine the sector, skilled professionals will be the backbone of India’s competitiveness. The government is committed to equip thousands of young Indians with skills that will lead to efficiency, resilience and global leadership of India’s logistics economy, he said.
