Hubballi branch Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which was at the tip for sales and storage of non -certified products, performed search in two songs Instakart Services PVT. Ltd. In Dharwad and confiscated articles of approximately 1.3 GBP Crore.
According to the official press release from BIS, search engines were carried out on Friday in warehouses in the village of Kotur in the Dharwd district. Instakart is a logistics arm of the electronic Flipkart trading.
The BIS team led by Deputy Director M. Pradeep Kumar and the assistant director Ashutosh agrawal carried out raids in the framework of coercive activities to ensure compliance with the BIS law of 2016.
During the inspection, the team found that several products were stored and offered for sale without the ISI compulsory brand, contrary to different quality control commands (QCOS), which the Indian government announced.
A total of 427 non-ISIs marked products worth approximately 1.3 Crore were confiscated from the area. Semi -confiscated objects included air conditioning, mixer grinders, water heaters, sewing machines, shoes and other goods under the BIS certification.
Act
The 2016 BIS Act orders that the goods notify that the compulsory certification must not be produced, stored or sold without a standard mark (Mark ISI). Any violation of these provisions is a criminal offense and may lead to a minimum fine of 2 Lakh or imprisonment for up to two years.
BIS urges all manufacturers, importers and platforms of electronic trading to strictly adhere to quality and safety standards set out in various quality control commands to ensure consumer safety and fair trade procedures.
