Local holiday for Tiruvallur on 6th August for Aadi Krithigai festival.

The Tiruvallur district administration has declared a local holiday on August 6, Thursday, to mark the Aadi Krithigai festival at the Sri Subramanyaswamy temple in Tiruttani. Collector S. Kavitha said the holiday would not come under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 and that cash registers and sub-treasury offices would function on the day. Schools and other educational institutions will have holidays on that day. Saturday, Aug. 8, will be an alternate business day, the press release said.
