Liverpool have completed the pre-deadline signing of PSG’s Bradley Barcola

Liverpool have completed the signing of France international Bradley Barcola from Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain, with the forward joining the Premier League side on a long-term deal. The 23-year-old is understood to have agreed a five-year deal, with reports in the British media the total value of the transfer is approximately £120 million (US$162 million).

Barcola arrives at Anfield after three seasons in Paris after moving to PSG from Lyon in 2023 for a reported 45 million euros ($52 million). During his time with the French champions, he made 152 appearances across all competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists.

Barcola expressed his delight after completing his move to Merseyside, with the French striker claiming his dream is to win the Premier League with Liverpool.

“It’s a great pride to play for Liverpool. I’m very happy.

“It’s taken a long time but today I’m really happy to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.

“I hope to achieve very big things. Above all, to win the Premier League – that is one of my biggest dreams in my life.”

“It’s to do it and stay in this team for the long term – that’s why I signed a long contract – and I hope I can do that.”

His spell in France was full of silver. Barcola helped PSG secure back-to-back Champions League triumphs, three Ligue 1 titles and two French Cups. He was also included in France’s squad for this year’s World Cup.

Known for his explosive pace, tight control and ability to run at defenders, Barcola now becomes another major addition to Liverpool’s revamped attack.

The move also comes after the Frenchman found himself facing increasing competition for regular starts at PSG. The club’s line-up includes 2025 Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue, while Ferran Torres was also part of the attacking mix.

Liverpool have been extremely active in the transfer market as they look to rebuild under new manager Andoni Iraola. The former Bournemouth boss replaced Arne Slot after Liverpool endured a disappointing campaign to finish fifth in the Premier League despite investing around £400m in new players.

Iraola’s squad has already strengthened in several areas, Uruguayan international Ronald Araujo is coming on loan, French defender Jeremy Jacquet and Spanish striker Victor Munoz have also joined the club.

Barcola adds further depth to an attack that already includes British record signings Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Munoz.

Liverpool opened the latest campaign with a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest at the weekend. They will be looking to get back to winning ways when they travel to Ipswich on Friday.
