
The Indian Meteorological Department predicted that severe precipitation was very likely to occur in isolated sites in Kerala over the next 3-4 days.
The JAS Center also issued a red warning of collisions for eight kerala districts, including Pathanamitta, Kotam, Ernapulkiam, Duck, Kotur, Wire, Kannur and Wedding Quarters.
For six districts, orange alerts of precipitation – Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram were issued.
According to the Indian meteorological department (IMD), strong western winds are likely to persist on lower tropospheric levels above Kerala and the Lakshadweep region for another two to three days, resulting in expanded precipitation.
