American food and drug administration (FDA) has issued its most serious warning for contaminated organic blueberries. Alma then remembered 400 boxes (£ 12,000) after routine tests that Listeria Monocytogenes, a deadly bacteria.
The company with its registered office in Georgia supplied tunne fruit on one customer in North Carolina before it captured the problem in June.
FDA issues the highest risk withdrawal
Until July 1, the FDA declared it a “memory of class I” – which means that the consumption of these berries can cause severe illness or death. Risk blueberries carry the number of batches 13325 G1060 and 13325 G1096. Although the company claims that no berries have reached food stores, the FDA warns everyone to check their freezers and avoid these products completely.
Listeria is not just ordinary food poisoning. It is the American third most important food disease that kills about 260 people a year. Unlike most bacteria, Listeria is growing in refrigerators, so it is extremely tricky.
Adults can only suffer from fever, reversal or diarrhea for several days. In pregnant women, however, may cause abortions or dead births. Older adults, newborns and people with a weak immune system may develop deadly meningitis (brain swelling) or sepsis.
Warning signs include intense headaches, rigid necks, confusion or seizures. If you ate these berries and feel bad, doctors urge immediate medical attention, especially if they are pregnant. This download comes only a few weeks after Listeria-covered chicken food caused 3 deaths and abortion at a nationwide level.
This blueberry warning is suitable for a frightening pattern: American memories of food are rising. In 2024 alone, about 300 memories caused 1400 people to be sick, hospitalized 487 and killed 19, double 2023’s Death. In recent months, shrimp, turkey and prepared meals such as Freshrealm’s Fettuccine (sold in Kroger and Walmart) have been remembered.
While blueberries usually offer health benefits, such as better blood pressure and reduced inflammation, contaminated those are dangerous. Experts recommend to produce washing thoroughly, clean the fridge surfaces per month and monitor the FDA updates.
As one microbiologist remarks: “Early symptoms of listeria look like regular flu but delay treatment may be fatal when attacking your brain.”
