KANCHA GACHIBOWLI problem
The proposal of the TELANGANY government for the development of 400 hectares of land in Kancha Gachibowli for IT infrastructure caused protests of the Student Union University of Hyderabad. This question is currently being reviewed by both the Supreme Court in the Tellangana and the Supreme Court.
Protesting students say that a section of 400 hectares rightly belongs to the university, while the state government keeps it land and allocated the almost equivalent area of the University of Hyderabad near its campus as a replacement for the Kancha Gachibowli region.
Meanwhile, there have been reports that the Theangana government is planning to drop the IT Park project and instead, according to reports, to develop an environmental park throughout the section of 2,000 hectares. The plan also includes relocation of the university campus to another location.
