The final list of voters published by the State Election Commission before the elections of the local bodies in Kerala has a total of 2,83.12,472 voters.
The number is 6,55,562 voters compared to the list of voters used for surveys by the local authority by 2020 and higher by 16.34 216 voters compared to the proposal published by the 23rd July this year.
The Commission, which has the task of preparing the voters’ lists and the elections to the local authorities, this time received 29.81 Lakh applications for registration.
Of the 2,83,12,472 voters are 1,49,59,245 women, 1,33,52 951 are men. There are 276 transgender voters. Voters NRI number 2 087, said the Commission headed by A. Shajahan. For comparison, 1,44,83 915 women, 1,31,72 755 men and 240 transgender voters, and 2162 NRI voters in 2020 were eligible to vote.
The final list of voters concerns 17 337 departments in 941 Gram Panchayats, 3 240 departments in 87 municipalities and 421 departments in six corporations. The list was updated, with 1 January 2025 set as a qualification date for enrollment.
The Commission published a proposal for voters’ list on 23 July. He then prepared the final list of inspection of applications and complaints received until 12 August and by hearing about them. The list is accessible on the website of the Sec.kerala.gov.in Commission, the local authorities and the Taluk and Village offices.
