Hailstorm affected life in Kalghatgi town and various villages in the taluk of Dharwad district on Tuesday evening.
The sudden development has left the residents of the taluk in a panic mode forcing them to take shelter wherever possible.
The impact of the hail was such that it looked like farmland, roads, open spaces and roofs were covered in snow.
In several places, the size of the hail caused panic, forcing people to run for cover and take cover.
Several vehicles were stuck on the road as hail covered kilometers of road sections, making it risky for them to drive. Only after the intensity subsided and the hail melted, the motorists drove off cautiously.
Though hailstorm was witnessed in different parts of Dharwad district, it was not as intense as in Kalghatgi.
