Prime Minister Narendra Modi 26 March was written by the main advisor to Prof. Muhammad Yunus, who greeted him and citizens in Bangladesh National Day.
In a letter accessible by Hindu, Mr. Modi expanded his felicitation to prof. Yunus and the people of Bangladesh. The country celebrates its independence on March 26, the day Šejk Mujibur Rahman declared independence from Pakistan in 1971.
The day is observed as Vijay Divas in India, especially in the Indian Army, which recalls its role in the Bangladeshi liberation war.

“This day is a testimony to our shared history and victims that laid the foundation of our bilateral partnership. The spirit of the Liberation War in Bangladesh remains the main light for our relationship, which has flourished across several domains, which brings palpable advantages to our nations,” Modi wrote.
“We continued to develop this partnership, driven by our common ambitions for peace, stability and prosperity, and based on mutual sensitivity to each other and concerns,” he wrote.
The letter comes at a time when India-Bangladesh’s links are going through turbulent times, and Dhaka is looking for deportation of Prime Minister Sheik Hasina and Indian leaders express concerns about the position of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
Foreign Minister Vikram Misri on Wednesday (March 26, 2023) in his interaction with the Permanent Committee for the external Affairs of Parliament in his country emphasized the role of the army chief in Bangladesh.
Hind learned that Mr Misri outlined the rise of disturbing fractional forces in Bangladesh and noted that the “continued release of Islamic extremists” by a temporary government is a matter of “regional and global security”. The discussion coincided with the day of Bangladesh independence.

Mr. Yunus is on his way to Beijing on the Bangladesh playground as the goal of Chinese investment, especially in the manufacturing sector. His press secretary told Hindu that Mr. Yunus wanted to travel to India before visiting China, but Dhaka’s request for a visit did not cause a “positive” Indian response.
