Leopard rescued in Tarikere

A leopard rescued by forest officials at Hunasekatte in Tarikere area of ​​Bhadravathi division on Saturday.

A five-year-old female leopard that chased a dog into a house toilet in Hunasekatte village in the Tarikere range was successfully rescued after being sedated on Saturday.

While chasing the dog, the animal got into the toilet. Alerted to the intruders, the residents immediately closed the toilet doors and informed forest department officials from Bhadravati division. A team led by Sharan Singh Rathore, Veterinary Officer at Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari (Shivamogga Zoo), immobilized the leopard using sedatives. The veterinary team then administered a reversal drug to bring the animal out of sedation. Officials would release the animal into the forest area.
