The Left Democratic Front (LDF) on Wednesday (October 15, 2025) organized a rally and held a public meeting in Perambra town to explain its stand on the recent “police action” against Shafi Parambila, the Vadakar MP, after which he suffered a nose injury and was hospitalised.
Addressing the meeting, LDF convener and local MLA TP Ramakrishnan said efforts were being made to bring innocent people into the recent political skirmishes in the city after false stories and fake media reports were spread. He also accused some police officials of going along with the trend, which is not appropriate.
Mr. Ramakrishnan said the police officials should have examined what was right and what was wrong and taken legal action based on their judgment. EP Jayarajan, a senior CPI(M) leader, accused Congress activists of assaulting the Perambra grama panchayat president without any provocation during a “hartal” called by the party there recently.
