Shafi Parambil, a Congress MP, claimed that the government of the left democratic front (LDF) ignored the Medical Faculty in the state of the Government Hospital because they are “dependent on public campaigns”.
He opened a protest meeting outside the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, against various problems affecting the health care sector in the state.
Mr. Shafi claimed that the government also helped the “private lobby of the hospital lobby” by neglecting Medical College hospitals. He claimed that patients’ rights to medical care were limited. Mr Shafi demanded that the government to reduce its expenditure on PR campaigns and use funds for good living conditions of patients. Emphasizing the recent contribution to the social media CS Haris, head of the urological ministry at the Government Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, about the lack of availability of surgical facilities and equipment, Mr. Shafi claimed that even the left sympathizer like him could not hide his disappointment over the state.
Meanwhile members of the Association of Teachers Teachers Keral Government Medical College (KGMCTA) organized a protest meeting on the National Physician Day on Tuesday (July 1), thus increasing different requirements. The opening of the protest, CS ARAVIND, State Secretary of KGMCTA, said that doctors at government medical faculties were disappointed with the current situation and demanded urgent reforms in this industry. Doctors have made requirements such as the creation of multiple contributions to medical teachers with regard to the growing number of patients, a clear definition of their working hours and stopping the temporary transfers of the doctors, citing the Inspection of the National Medical Commission and Keral University of Health Sciences.
