The ongoing disruption to IndiGo’s flight operations continues to spark outrage across the country — and one of the most heart-wrenching accounts has now gone viral. A young advocate preparing for the prestigious Judiciary Mains exam in Bengaluru shared an emotional video online, claiming that the chaos on the road cost him the opportunity he had been waiting for for almost a decade.
“An exam I can’t take for the next three years”
In the widely circulated clip, the advocate explains that he had already completed the preparatory rounds and was ready to write the main examination on December 6 and 7 – a major milestone after seven years of preparation.
“The preliminary exams have already been taken care of. It’s been five to seven years of wasted hard work,” he said, visibly distressed. “I wanted to become a judge… this was the chance.
Because of the mandatory three-year practice rule, he says he won’t be eligible to try the exam again until 2028.
I’ve tried every avenue possible — even though I’ve paid ₹10 lakhs”
The advocate detailed his desperate attempts to find an alternative route after his IndiGo flight plans fell through.
He searched for last-minute tickets not only from Delhi, but also from Bhopal, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Amritsar – and even airports adjacent to Bengaluru, including Hubballi, Mangaluru, Kochi, Coimbatore, Trivandrum and Kannur.
“I’ve tried every possible measure… no availability anywhere,” he said. “Although I am prepared to pay. ₹10 lakhs, I have no other option.”
He added that he has screenshots of his efforts to use as evidence.
“I’m a lawyer – I’m going to sue them”
The candidate stated that he already:
Emailing IndiGo for alternative travel arrangements
He sent a representation to the Karnataka High Court
He documented his entire travel search trail
“I’m just trying to build a strong case for myself,” he said. “I hope at least the judiciary will help a fellow attorney.”
Flight chaos leaves thousands stranded
The incident comes as passengers across India report major cancellations, delays and mismanagement – with IndiGo facing public criticism for a lack of communication and assistance. Many travelers have taken to social media to share how the disruption has jeopardized job interviews, medical appointments and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
IndiGo has not yet issued a detailed statement regarding individual complaints like this one.
