A lawyer was brutally murdered in Annamayya district after a long-running rivalry on Wednesday (April 8) night. The police arrested five accused in this connection and started searching for others.
Addressing a press conference in Rayachoti on Thursday (April 9, 2026), Superintendent of Police (SP) Dheeraj Kunubilli said the victim, Poojari Yellaiah of Patha Vaddepalli village in KV Palli mandal, was allegedly the target of local factional tension and previous disputes. The immediate trigger that allegedly led to the incident was an argument on April 6 over the installation of a transformer near his house.
