A social media post allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed that there was a firing incident outside the residence of Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh’s manager in Haryana’s Karnal.
However, Haryana Police said on Wednesday (May 13, 2026) that they have not received any complaint from manager Gurpartap Singh Kang or his family. “There is no information from the family,” Karnal Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarniya said.
A police team visited Kang’s village, Gonder in Karnal, and as per preliminary investigation, nothing was found at the spot, the officer said.
In a social media post, Bishnoi’s aides, Tyson Bishnoi, Arzoo Bishnoi and Hari Boxer, reportedly claimed responsibility for the alleged firing outside Kang’s house in Gonder village.
Meanwhile, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema claimed that BJP had asked Mr Dosanjh to join the party a few days back but he refused. After that, Dosanjh’s manager was “assaulted” and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took over his responsibility, he claimed.
“It shows that the BJP is trying to scare celebrities and businessmen with the help of gangsters. Its anti-Punjabi face has been exposed,” Mr Cheema said.
Earlier on X, the minister said, “The timeline is crystal clear to anyone who witnesses. BJP tells @diljitdosanjh to join them, which he publicly refuses. Days later, a Bishnoi gang attacks his manager’s house to send him a ‘message’.”
Mr. Cheema accused the BJP of obstructing every path to justice as far as the Bishnois are concerned. “And what is the BJP government doing? It is blocking any serious attempt to interrogate Lawrence Bishnoi, sheltering him in Gujarat and treating him as a state asset instead of a criminal,” he said.
“This is not law and order. This is the arming of gangsters to intimidate Punjabis who refuse to bow down to the BJP. A cowardly, vindictive and deeply anti-Punjabi mindset is on full display. Punjab will not be silenced,” the minister added.
