Governor of Tripury N. Indasena Reddy said on Monday: “It is important to give the proper priority of mental health along with physical health.”
He spoke after the start of M. Phil Clinical Courses Psychology and Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology (PDCP) in Indlas hospitals. Mr Indasena Reddy stressed that the mentally healthy population is decisive for achieving the goal of developed India.
He said, “India is developing into the global medical center, people even come here from developed nations to receive quality medical treatment at cheap costs. However, there is still” social stigma and neglect “surrounding mental health. Individuals suffering from mental illness often look down, and promote them further into depression. Mental diseases should be treated as any other health problem and proper care should be provided. ”
Minister of Health Satya Kumar Yadav appreciated the Indlas Hospital for introducing new courses. He said, “80% of the country’s population suffered from some form of mental anxiety, and in films, films were exceptions from the depiction of mental health workers.
The Minister announced that the Center of Excellence for Mental Health, at the same level as the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (NiMhans), Bengalur, will be established in Visakhapatnam and a team of experts headed by Dr. Indla Ramasubba Reddy in this area.
