YSR Congress Party state general secretary Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi on Saturday said TDP chief and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu repeatedly invokes the legacy of former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao whenever his credibility is questioned. She dismissed the renewed focus on the NTR statue as a diversionary policy.
Addressing the media in Hyderabad, Ms. Lakshmi Parvathi noted that Mr. Naidu had promised a statue of NTR at Neerukonda way back in 2014 but never delivered it. This failure, she said, belies his sincerity in citing the NTR legacy.
She appealed to NTR’s admirers and urged them to acknowledge Mr. Naidu’s repeated betrayals. If he really respects NTR, she added, he should secure the Bharat Ratna for him, reverse the privatization of the medical college and complete the long-pending public works in Andhra Pradesh.
Ms. Lakshmi Parvathi urged BJP leaders to address the alleged misrule of Mr. Naidu and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. He plans to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing the TDP leader of tarnishing the state’s reputation by tolerating gambling, cockfighting and casinos. She warned that Mr. Lokesh’s so-called “red book” style of governance would eventually backfire on Mr. Naidu.
