Lakshay-Ujjwal duo lauded for first rowing World Cup win

It was a monumental moment for Indian rowing when Lakshay and Ujjwal Kumar Singh made history by winning the country’s first ever gold medal at the Rowing World Cup III in Switzerland, AP Rowing Association president Kakani Tarun said.
The Indian duo clinched the men’s lightweight double sculls title in 6:26.09, finishing ahead of Hong Kong and the Netherlands. He congratulated the athletes who won at the Bled Rowing International Regatta 2026.
Mr. Tarun said that the state too has huge medal potential in various categories in the sport and urged the Andhra Pradesh Sports Authority to provide the required infrastructure.
