Lahore HC rejects Mohammad Rizwan’s plea seeking summoning of cybercrime agency through England
The Lahore High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Rizwan against the summons issued by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency. The investigation follows Pakistan’s Test tour of England, with the agency looking into alleged locker room leaks. Rizwan and his colleague Imam-ul-Haq had earlier appeared before the agency where they were questioned about travel, financial history and personal details. Rizwan challenged the basis of the investigation and challenged the agency’s jurisdiction in an attempt to halt the proceedings. The controversy comes alongside a disciplinary inquiry by the Pakistan Cricket Board after seven players were sent home following defeats in the opening Test matches in England.
