Kurian Peter was consecrated as the bishop of the Kochin diocese of the Church of South India (CSI) in the office that took place on Friday in the Immanuel CSI Cathedral.
CSI moderator K. Reuben Mark was the main celebrant of the function. The Secretary General of CSI C. Fernandas Rathina Raja, treasurer B. Vimal Sukumar, other bishops, diocese officers, presbyters, evangelists, directors of the synods and corps members were present.
Bishop Kurian was born on December 5, 1971 and had his early education at Sacred Heart High School and Sacred Heart College, Thevar. He received in economics at the University of Mahatma Gandhi, after which the Bachelor of Divinity finished on Leonard Theological College, Jabalpur. He received Master of Theology in pastoral care for Trinity College, Divinity School, Melbourne, University of Divinity.
