
The aim of Kudumbashree is to convert Kerala into a state that has a level of income comparable to medium -income countries, said the Minister of MB Rajesh.
As part of the inauguration of a three -day national workshop on “rural corporate incubators” organized by Kudumbashree and national missions for rural livelihoods, the Minister said on Wednesday that Kudumbasree had contributed to the strengthening of women financially, politically and culturally. Now the focus has been shifted from the development of business to create more jobs and income. With regard to this end, a new program for generating employment based on women’s employment has launched.
The Minister said the state also focuses on strengthening the participation of female labor from 20% to 50%. “That would change our economic landscape,” he said.
Within the Vijnana Ceramlam program, Kudumbashree managed to generate a job for one lake woman, he said.
He also talked about diversification and modernization of Kudumbashree activities to meet new challenges. The technological conclave in Kochi saw 900 groups equipped with modern technology. A hundred technologies have been obtained from leading research organizations across the country, the minister said.
The imprint of Kudumbashree was seen in every flagship of the state government. He played an instrumental role in pulling out of poverty of 95% of 64,006 families marked as extremely poor in the state, he said.
He expressed hope that the acts in the workshop will help kudumbashree in the field of corporate incubation.
Shailesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, said that in order to ensure a sustainable living for rural entrepreneurs, a strong and extensive network with support provided at different stages such as marketing production could be created.
Rajeshwari SM, Director, Ministry of Rural Development, called for an environment for the growth of businesses selected within the incubation program.
