KTU signs MoU with National Insurance Company for ‘Suraksha’ student insurance scheme.

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Insurance Company Ltd. for implementation of ‘Suraksha’ group personal accident insurance for students in affiliated colleges during the academic year 2026-27.

Under the Suraksha scheme, accident insurance up to ₹12 lakh will be provided to each student. In case of accidental death of any of the student’s parents, the nominee will receive a financial assistance of ₹ 5 lakh. The scheme also provides ₹ 1 lakh for post-accidental treatment and in cases of permanent disability suffered by the student or parent as a result of the accident. Medical expenses incurred for up to 30 days after hospitalization are also covered by the insurance.

In addition to the insurance coverage provided by the insurance company, KTU will continue to extend financial assistance for the treatment of various diseases. A financial assistance of ₹ 5 lakh will also be provided to the nominee in case of death of the student due to illness.
