Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working President KT Rama Rao demanded an immediate return of hikes included in the price of gasoline, diesel and LPG cylinders and said that “it is an attack on an ordinary person and betrayal of public trust”.
In a letter to the Minister of Ropa Union Hardeep Singh Puri on Wednesday, Mr. Rama Rao criticized the latest hike at LPG 50 GBP prices and called the Minister’s notes that India offered the cheapest “gross joke”.
Other requirements include a reduction in central consumer responsibilities and removal of strengthening, transparent fuel prices associated with global oil, a white book on fuel taxation and revenue sharing, and return to real cooperative federalism. He claimed that the Policy of the Fuel Center prices is exploitative and fiscal unfair, making India one of the most expensive countries for gasoline, diesel and LPG.
Mr. Rama Rao said that these fuels are cheaper in neighboring countries such as Bhutan, Pakistan, and even economically developing Sri Lanka. He stated that these states suffocate financially in the fulfillment of the cash register of the center, which he considers to be a betrayal of cooperative federalism.
