BRS working president and Sircilla MLA KT Rama Rao urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to resolve the problems faced by students of JNTU Engineering College in Rajanna Sircilla district and speed up the construction of its permanent campus, which is approved at an estimated cost of ₹402 crore.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr. Rama Rao said that the project, which was approved in 2021, has yet to take off despite 20 acres being allotted in Mandepalli village. The college is currently functioning temporarily in the college premises at Agraharam.

He expressed concern over proposals to shift the engineering college from its existing premises to another private building, saying such a move could cause inconvenience to students, faculty members and other staff. He stressed the need to ensure that the classrooms, laboratories and other infrastructure already available in the current campus are not redundant.

Mr. Rama Rao urged the government to release the necessary funds and speed up the construction at the site allotted at Mandepalli.

The BRS leader appealed to the Chief Minister to direct the officials concerned not to issue notices asking the college to vacate its existing premises until suitable alternative arrangements are made.

Mr. Rama Rao said that the Chief Minister should intervene immediately to prevent disruption of academic activities and protect the interests of students.
