On Monday, Kerela’s activists led a protest march to the official residence of the Minister of Higher Education and demanded its resignation at the Kam Engineering input fiasco.
The demonstration was opened by the head of the Congress Ramesh Chenninithal. Activists later met the police when they tried to overthrow a barricade set up outside the official residence. Police use water cannons several times to distract protesters, who also burned a portrait.
President Ksu Aloshious Xavier said that the protests would be intensified if the Minister refuses to pay attention to their demand.
