
The Student Union of Kerala (KSU) attacked the CMS College back to power and secured 14 out of 15 seats in the Union elections. This victory ends with a 28 -year -old drought for KSU in the institution.
The Indian Federation of Students (SFI) managed to obtain only one chair.
The notifications of the results on Thursday had to be postponed until Friday after violent clashes between KSU and SFI activists broke out during counting. The police hit the situation to get under control and due to the tense atmosphere, the results were published on the College website.
The tension escalated further when supporters on the outside of the campus gave a university, which led to prolonged skirmishes that stretched late into the night. The head of the district police A. Shahul Hameed rushed to the scene and interviewed both parties, led by the head of the congress leader Thiruvancheor Radhakrishnan and the district secretary of CPI (M).
After the discussions it was decided to announce the results on Friday.
