KSRTC Announces Hyderabad, Lakshadweep Travel Packages

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced its luxury tours to Lakshadweep and Hyderabad.

Organized by the KSRTC Budget Tourism Cell, two packages have been arranged for travelers in Hyderabad – one covering three days and two nights and another covering two days and one night. Packages include accommodation, meals and entrance fees to tourist attractions in Hyderabad.

Three days two nights package includes visits to Nehru Zoological Park, Birla Mandir, NTR Garden, Ambedkar Statue, Lumbini Park, Hussain Sagar, Ramoji Film City, Hitech City, Golconda Fort, Salar Jung Museum, Chowmahalla Palace, Mecca Masjid and Charminar. The second package, covering two days and one night, includes Golconda Fort, Salar Jung Museum, Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Lumbini Park, Hussain Sagar, Birla Mandir and Ramoji Film City.

The itinerary is scheduled to start at 15:00 on the first day and end the return journey at 10:00 on the fourth day. Accommodation will be provided on the principle of triple sharing (three people in a room). Passengers are required to personally bear any charges for storing mobile phones, bags or shoes at the various places visited.

This Lakshadweep tour package starts with a flight from Kochi and includes visits to Agatti and Kalpitti islands. The three-night, four-day trip is designed to fit into the average person’s travel budget. Travelers can also choose between homestays and resorts.

The package includes Lakshadweep entry permit, airport transfers, twin-sharing accommodation, meals, Wi-Fi and insurance. Apart from enjoying the beaches and sunsets of Agatti, a special boat trip to Kalpitti Island is included. The itinerary also includes activities such as snorkeling, glass-bottom boat rides, kayaking, and opportunities to spot dolphins and sea turtles. Those who want to experience scuba diving or parasailing have to pay an additional fee of ₹4,000 and ₹3,500 respectively. Travelers who prefer vegetarian meals should inform the organizers at the time of booking.

To secure a seat, the full amount must be paid at the time of booking, KSRTC said in a statement here on Wednesday. The full price of the ticket applies to children over the age of two. As weather conditions can suddenly affect travel plans, travelers must strictly follow the safety instructions issued by officials. The luxury tour packages will be officially launched by Transport Minister CPJohn on September 22. The minister will also present mementos and prizes to the 10 travelers selected for the inaugural Lakshadweep trip. With the introduction of the new software, passengers will be able to book tickets online. Another newly introduced feature is the waiting list system for KSRTC ticket reservations, similar to that of the Indian Railways
