
The Cardataka (KSPCB) Council has chosen as the theme of the World Environment Day, which will be celebrated on June 5th.
Chairman of KSPCB PM PM Narendraswamy said on Thursday that there will be various events that have a day, including a unit on mass trees, photographic competitions, Green Selfie Challenge, Online Graffiti, Walkathon and Cyclothon.
Exhibitions on sustainable products, demonstration of green energy, show startups in new technologies, carbon credits for farmers, promotion of recycling and documentary screening of programs related to the environment.
He added that on this occasion a campaign for environmental awareness, street game, carbon cling awareness, carbon footprint audit for organizations and awareness of waste audit will also be organized.
In front of the steps to the entrance of Vishan Judhan, the environmental walk will also be organized and will participate in the celebrations to expand the environment, and approximately 3,000 people, including ministers, dignitaries, officers, scouts and guides and cadets of NCC.
Mr. Narendraswamy said that the Chief Minister Siddariah will present the Karnataka State Environment Awards to individuals and organizations that provided important environmental services.
He said that 50 Lakh will be provided to produce or produce movies related to the environment.
He added that KSPCB has proposed installation of reverse vending machines (RVM) in local civic bodies to recycle plastic bottles.
“When plastic bottles are inserted into the RVM kiosks, they will be crushed and rewarded with £ 1 to the person who stores a plastic bottle. In this way we can keep clean cities, recycle plastic and a person inserting a bottle also get a reward,” he added.
SS Lingaraja, a member secretary, KSPCB said that in the last three years about 1,65,000 checks have been carried out throughout the state, during which approximately 1,012 tons of prohibited plastics were confiscated and a fine of 5.6 crore was collected.
