KSHRC ordered to return the student certificates

Kerala State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC) member V. Geetha has ordered immediate action on a complaint alleging that the authorities at the Government Medical College in Parippally are refusing to return the original certificates of the female student.

The student, a native of Aduthala, has secured MBBS admission under the disability quota but is currently facing serious difficulties in continuing her medical studies due to her hearing impairment.

The commission directed the Superintendent of the Medical College to take immediate action in the matter, take all possible measures to resolve the issue and submit a detailed report through email and post within seven days.

The commission emphasized the seriousness of the situation and stated in its order that a student cannot be denied the possibility of further education just because his certificate is withheld. The case is scheduled for hearing at the Commission’s headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram on June 3.
