The Keral (KSHEC) Council (KSHEC) has noticed a remarkable progress in its initiative “Kerala studies” focused on the location of the state as a significant destination for higher education.
The Vice -Chairman of the Council Rajan Grukkal said that the ongoing internationalization efforts have already started to show encouraging results. The universities witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of foreign students looking for admission for various academic programs.
This growing trend of internationalization also led to the creation of academic links between the university institutions of Kerarals and the prestigious foreign universities. An important milestone was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (mine) between KSHEC and the University of Michigan-Flint. This agreement opens the door to the exchange programs of students and a short -term academic visit, emphasized prof. Gurukkal and added that discussions are taking place with several other international universities for similar partnerships.
He also said that experts such as Sapna Thwaite and Zacharih Mathew of the University of Michigan-Flint and Matthew A. Witenstein of the University of Dayton, participated in a recent seminar to improve the quality of the Globally Benchmark standards.
“KSHEC was helpful in the leadership of universities and universities in the State to explore a similar international partnership. The devoted unit of the Council for Internalization Leading Eldho Mathew has closely cooperated with national and international bodies to promote educational offers to Kerarals to the global audience.
One such example is the cooperation of the Council with the program “Study in India”, the National Forum for Internal Education. Currently, it is part of the forum of 29 universities and seven universities from Kerala, emphasized prof. Gurukkal.
The Council also builds links with international organizations such as the World Bank and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which will bring expertise to further strengthen the education system of the keral.
The Secretary of the Rajan Varughes Council said that the ongoing effort will be strengthened by the release of the new mobile and web application KSHEC called Scholar Connect. The app will connect scholars from Kerala who live abroad with university institutions in the state. These scholars who act as ambassadors will play a key role in bringing short -term international students and long -term academic cooperation.
