The State Electric Council of Kerala (KSEB) will collect 8 Paise per unit as a surcharge for fuel for electricity accounts. The purpose of the surcharge is to restore an additional amount spent on energy purchases in March 2025. According to KSEBs, the amount to be obtained is obtained by a surcharge is 19.7 crore. The State Regulatory Commission for Electricity Keral has created a ceiling 10 Paise per unit for automatic renewal of fuel surcharge by distribution companies.
