The State Electrical Council (KSEB) will collect 8 Paise per unit from consumers under two months and 9 Paise per unit from consumers under monthly invoicing as an electricity surcharge in August.
The purpose of the surcharge is to restore CRORE 20.63 GBP, which is additional costs incurred by the KSEB when purchasing energy in June 2025.
In July, the KSEB collected 6 Paise per unit as a surcharge from consumers in monthly and two -month billing systems.
Since June 2023, the KSEB has collected an additional cost via the automatic recovery mechanism under the conditions for the determination of the tariff regulations (the first amendment) announced by the State Regulatory Commission for Electricity.
In order to avoid tariff shock, the Commission set 10 Pais per unit as a maximum monthly amount of a surcharge that energy distribution companies can collect according to regulations.
