Karnataka Rajya Raith Sangha (KRRS) introduced a demonstration in the city on Thursday and called on the government to supplement the lakes and other water points in the areas of Hemavati and Cauver.
The leader KRRS Badgalpura Nagendra said that the government should also release water to Hemavati channel to facilitate the irrigation of standing crops.
He said that the government lacked foresight or long -term, and although there was water in the dam, it was unable to supplement the water formations.
He said that the maximum temperature during the day was on the rise and it was difficult for farmers to perform agricultural work in the heat of the day, and therefore wanted the lakes to be supplemented so that farmers could use them during the colder period of the day.
KRRS also sought quality power supply with adequate voltage for IP sets for at least seven hours.
