Krishna Milk Union has set a new national benchmark by announcing the highest milk purchase price and farmer bonus in India during its 36th general body meeting held on March 28, 2026.
Under the chairmanship of Chalasani Anjaneyul, the dairy union decided to increase the purchase price of buffalo milk with 10% fat by ₹30 per kg of fat, taking the rate to ₹850, while total cow milk solids was increased by ₹20 to ₹310.
Mr. Anjaneyulu said that from April 1, 2026, farmers will be paid a record ₹ 935 per kg fat when combined with split bonuses. “This financial boost is complemented by the announcement of a bonus of ₹ 15 crore for the last quarter of FY 2025-26, taking the total annual bonus payout to ₹ 45 crore,” he said.
The meeting highlighted a transformative seven-year period of growth where the union’s annual turnover grew by 77% to ₹1,265 crore and fixed assets quadrupled from ₹64 crore to ₹320 crore.
Mr. Anjaneyulu attributed the success to farmers’ philosophy and strong government support, specifically crediting the central subsidy of ₹10 crore and the state’s initiative to build cattle sheds across the constituencies.
Looking at a sustainable future, the dairy union was going to set up a 10MW solar power plant to reduce electricity costs and actively promote organic farming practices in its member villages, he said.
“The progress report presented in the presence of Kolli CEO Eshwar Babu and committee members underscores the evolution of the union into a robust ₹250 crore surplus organization dedicated to the holistic welfare of the dairy farming community,” he said.
