Officials sounded on alert when the flood levels in the Downstream areas of the Krishna River in the Krishna district increased on Monday. Revenue and police officers moved pregnant women to designated auxiliary camps.
Since the irrigation authorities release about 6.84 Lakh Cusecs, officials asked villagers who remained in low -laid areas to move to safer places. Flood water came to the roads and flooded the streets in some island dwellings. In some places the water flowed to the “SAPTAS” and caused inconvenience for villagers.

“We organized 22 ships to Thotlavallur Mandal to move villagers in an emergency. We were given instructions for providing food, milk and breakfast with flood victims that stay in embossed camps,” Balaji said.
The collector visited the aqueduct of Puligaddy and reviewed the flood situation in the villages of Kokkiligaddy, Bobbarlanka and Kothapal in Mopid’s mandala. He ordered irrigation, Panchayat Raj, police and income officers to be vigilant and maintain supplies, as the flood level may increase in the next two days.
In Challapalli mandala, the collector of the colony visited and communicated with the inhabitants of the village of Nadakudur. He asked the villagers to cooperate with officers and move to relief camps.
