Kozhikode bound flight makes emergency landing at Kochi airport

Air Arabia flight G9 454, operating from Sharjah to Kozhikode, was diverted to Cochin International Airport in the early hours of Saturday (June 13, 2026) following a technical problem related to the aircraft’s engine retraction system.

There were 170 passengers and 9 infants on board the flight. All passengers and crew were safe. Airport operations remained unaffected.

Following established security protocols, a local emergency was declared and a full alert followed at 3:34 a.m. to ensure the readiness of all airport emergency services. The aircraft landed safely at 3:38 and was directed to the designated parking area. Full alert was lifted at 3:45 a.m. after all security checks were completed.

After clearing the snag, the aircraft departed for Kozhikode at 7.15 am
