Shutdown
The prolonged weaning of the Kottayam Textiles, which is located in Vedagiri under the Kaduthurutha constituency, has seriously influenced employees and workers and left them for years without salaries or benefits. As a local legislator, Mr. Joseph also raised this question in the legislative assembly.
One of the main obstacles to re -opening was the CRORE 8 GBP in unpaid electricity fees, which was resolved after a high -level meeting, chaired by the main minister. The government then decided to give up the entire outstanding amount by December 31, 2024.
Common request
Then the trade unions also agreed to submit a joint application to the government and seek for benevolence for the remaining fees. In accordance with this, Mr. Joseph filed a proposal for the Minister of Electricity K. Krishhnankutty and demanded the postponement of residual arrears. The State Council for Electricity in Keral, which was acting for a request, responded positively.
The unit suspended production in January 2020 due to a serious lack of working capital and raw materials.
