The Kollam district sees developing initiatives that cover every sector, said Finance Minister KN Balagopal. He chaired a meeting convened in a collection conference hall here on Tuesday as part of the celebration of the fourth anniversary of the state government.
“The steps to develop tourism and commercial potential of the port of Kollam have been taken in a way that will benefit the future district development plans. After completing the Vishinjam project, the cargo ship and ships will arrive through this route and allow international tourism.
Speaking of other important initiatives, Mr. Balagopal added that the circuit of Kollam Biodiversity Circuit, the main project of tourism connecting a prominent and upcoming destination in the district, will soon be completed.
“The scientific system will be implemented to prevent coastal erosion. The government also assigned 53 GBP Crore to a clean production factory in Neendakar,” he said.
The Minister also pointed out that the Biomining project in the KureEPuzha waste treatment plant was an excellent model of Malinaa Muktam’s Navakerama initiative in the State.
“The fair will take place from 11 to 17 May in Asramam Maidan to show all these achievements that transform the district. The exhibition should include future development options and this will allow the public to evaluate and share ideas,” the Minister said.
On April 16, a sophisticated meeting of the organizational committee is planned. There is also a proposal to perform parallel exhibitions at the level of the local body. District collector N. Devidas, other district judge G. Nirmalkumar, district police chief (Kollam City) Kiran Narayanan, district officials and others attended a meeting.
