February 8, 2026

Kolkata Metro Railway services on the Blue Line, the section between Dakshineswar and Birji, were disrupted for about 50 minutes on Sunday after a passenger jumped in front of a train at Rabindra Sarobar station, a spokeswoman said.

A middle-aged person was taken to a nearby hospital after blocking the electricity in both the UP and DN rows at Rabindra Sarobar.

Shortened services were currently being operated between Majdan and Dakshineswar stations from 10:45 AM to 11:33 AM.

“Normal traffic was restored on the entire section of the blue line from 11:33 a.m. after 48 minutes,” the spokeswoman said.

The commuter’s fate was unknown.
