Hearing will be held about complaints filed through Akshaya Centers about obtaining names, repairs to names and addresses, changes in divisions and eliminating the names of voters who are either dead or will no longer be in the divisions concerned. The councilors raised complaints on the proposal of election roles.
Call for Nuns release
The Corporation Council on Tuesday adopted a resolution calling for the release of both nuns arrested in Chhattisgarh.
The Council was approved by the resolutions of the moved Council of the Democratic Front (LDF) George Nanatta. While the councilors of the united democratic front (UDF) supported the resolution, the BJP councilors opposed it. The BJP councilors were reportedly insulted that the central government could hit the nuns and punish the wine, even if they were looking for its removal from the resolution.
They claimed that the center could not do anything out of law. LDF and UDF councilors opposed this stand. Councilor LDF Va Sreejith said that the center is obliged to intervene. Councilor PR Raneesh quoted from the book Band of ideas written by Mrs. Golwalkara in his answer to the BJP Council. He said that the book had dubbed Christians as enemies and that it would deal with them accordingly.
UDF demanded a ban on Bajranga Dal. Mayor M. Anilkucar tried to know about what reasons should not be required by the center intervention. He said the attack against nuns had the consequences in national politics.
