The opposition united democratic front (UDF) was accused by Kochi Corporation of entering a contract for the performance of potholes, although it has obtained a machine to connect the pothole under Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML), causing considerable financial burden on the civil body.
Although the machine was deployed to fill potholes on roads throughout the city since January, it was not effective, which required the addition of a contract to effectively complete the work, the opposition claimed. So far, potholes cover 2,835.89 cubic meters could be filled.
“Although it costs £ 1,200 to fill in the cubic meter using a repair machine, the company offered the same work for 800 ₹ per cubic meter. This is, in addition to the CRORE 5 GBP, that the company will have to pay for the operation and maintenance of the machine over the next five years, for the rate of £ 1 per year.
He also claimed that despite the six -month warranty period determined in the agreement with the potholes filled with the machine re -discovered. The company should ensure the effectiveness of the machine before it is obtained, he said.
However, the mayor of M. Anilkucar rejected the accusation as unfounded. “The limit was set for the use of the machine during the year. However, this was exceeded within three to four months because it was deployed to revive the entire sections, rather than filling the potholes for which the machine is intended. This did not leave us than to be carried out in the supplier,” he said.
Mr. Anilkucar pointed out that, with the exception of the Link and Thammanam-PullepPady Road road, all other roads under the corporation were in a much better condition despite the permanent rain since May. “The entire section on the stadium line road will reappear as soon as the rain recedes. As for the Thammanam-PullepPads road, the non-thinking action of digging the road to lay the pipeline during the monsoon has led to its current state.
