Kl Rahul gained high praise from the former Ashish cricket after his impressive performance in Anderson-Tendelkar Trophy. With key players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as a result of retirement, Rahul intensified as the most experienced dough on the test side of India and played a key role in balancing a series of five matches 2-2.
Rahul scored 532 runs per 10 shifts and diameted a solid 53.2 when he looked folded and reassured all the time, even under pressure.
Ashish doesn’t eat when he spoke of Sony Sports, acknowledged Rahul’s maturity and a sense of responsibility, especially with the young team around him.
“It was an experienced dough. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were not there. There were several young players. The English tour is not easy. No matter how much you are discussing that the playground in the first two tests was the most amazing, you still have a score and this player showed it.”
He also pointed out that Rahul got to the bat in his preferred position at the top of the order, allowing him to settle and lead by example.
“As an opener, when you are the most experienced team player, it must be in your mind. Experienced players like him and Jasprit Bumrah have done their work fully. It was good that he got a chance to play on the number he has played for a long time.
The Rahul series included two centuries and the 1950s. Only his captain Shaubman Gill scored more for India and ended up with 754 runs. Rahul’s knocking, however, were particularly important for how he adapted to the conditions and played within his strengths against the brand new red icing.
Technical discipline keys to success Rahul
The former Indian player of RP Singh, who joined the same discussion panel, emphasized the technical and mental adjustments that Rahul succeeded in English conditions.
“I feel that Klumul had made a strong decision on which shots he had to avoid. The bat was always close to his body. He only drove fuller balls. He tried the singles from the length balls. He also shared his experience with the captain,” he said.
He also added that Rahul not only managed his own game, but also led his partners during the major moments in the match.
“Sometimes you have to tell your partner how much the ball is swinging or what he can correct during the match. He tried with several people, even if he did not do it with Rishabh Pant. He exchanged words with other doughs,” Singh said.
Rahul’s disciplined and patient approach in this test line meant a tectonic shift in his test career. Previously, Rahul’s career with a red ball was a story of inconsistency, but in England he turned the switch and came out as one of the best dough in the series.
