NEW DELHI: Weeks after withdrawing his name from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani was on Tuesday banned for two years by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). PCB banned Muzarabani from PSL for two years. “In this case, despite a clear offer and unequivocal acceptance of the basic terms and conditions, the player chose to ignore these commitments in favor of a conflicting arrangement,” the PCB said in a statement quoted by Cricbuzz. The Zimbabwean pacer accepted a deal with Islamabad United for PSL 2026 but later backed out and signed with KKR for IPL 2026.Right-arm pacer Muzarabani was among the prominent bowlers in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, finishing as the joint third highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps as Zimbabwe reached the Super Eights stage. Muzarabani, who had previously won the PSL title with Multan Sultans, was initially selected in the PSL auction on 11 February. However, a deal was later struck with Islamabad as an outright signing after they released West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph. Kolkata Knight Riders have signed Blessing Muzarabani for the IPL as a replacement for Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman.Earlier, KKR released Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman from their IPL squad following the instructions of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to do so. Mustafizur was bought in the 2026 auction for Rs 9.2 crore by KKR.So far in the 2026 IPL season, Muzarabani has played two matches for KKR and has four wickets to his name, conceding 75 runs at an economy rate of 10.71.
